About Juno Falls

Bio from their website:

Dublin Ireland's Myles O Reilly began making music under the moniker Juno Falls in 2003. Forsaking his stomping ground of Dublin city, Myles, with friends David Shakespeare on drums and bassist Dara Diffily decamped to a small cottage in West Cork to record with producer and atmosphericist supreme Herbie Macken (Neil Finn, Bic Runga, The Devlins). Leaving the capital, the majesty of Ireland's most transient landscape and the welcoming crackle of Herbie Macken's log fire, stole Myles attentions as everyone got lost in an environment that was - quiet, clear and peaceful. As the songs they recorded began to reflect the surroundings, it quickly became obvious that Myles sound and identity was set to change.

After only 13 days Myles returned to Dublin with the ear-earnest debut album 'Starlight Drive' which was soon after signed up by Sony/ATV music publishing and released in Ireland in 2004 under the name Juno Falls. "Juno" Myles explains "was the betrayed wife of Greek god and womaniser Zeus. She chose to fall to earth as a means of breaking free from her immortal marital confinement". Atmospheric and divinely melodious, Starlight Drive was received with massive critical acclaim. The debut single from the album, 'This song is your own', became a top 20 summer hit and Juno Falls quickly became a household name, filling hearts and music venues across the country. An appearance at the Oxegen festival, the release of the second single 'Kiss me' and a lengthy support tour with The Devlins, made 2004 a very eventful year. In December, a quirky representation of Irving Berlin's 'White Christmas', brought Juno Falls a third radio hit and Ireland had its first white Christmas in over a decade.

In January 2005 Myles moved out of Dublin to make a home in Dingle, Co. Kerry, a place steeped in musical, artistic and literary history, to be inspired and write new material. At the foot of the Kerry mountains, looking out over the Blasket Islands and the Atlantic Ocean, as many as 40 songs came to fruition. Once they had been brought to the band and roughly recorded, demos were sent to record companies in the UK. So impressed was the head A&R for Richard Branson's prestigious V2 music label, that he made the long journey from London to offer Myles an iternational recording contract. Road testing new material over a two month support tour with Meteor award winner Juliet Turner, and signing the V2 contract in December brought a very constructive year to a close.

For 2006 Myles has been in studio's in Ireland, the UK and Nashville USA recording his first international debut album due for release next year.
