Remember the original albums covers, sleaves and lyric sheets and photos from Happy to Meet and Sorry to Part ,The Tain ,Book of Invasions etc...?
Well Charles ( O'Connor) has been reworking those original designs over the last eighteen months and has accurately scaled them all down for a CD remake and distribution with the Japanese iconic album re creator 'Strange Days'.-apparently communication between the two was a bit awkward at times due to  language and he was a bit wary over what they'd do with his directions- but the end result is absolutely fantastic! Even Charles thought they looked exactly like the originals as they've recreated every detail perfectly.
The only down side Charles could find is the price and the fact that they'll have to be bought from Japan as an import from either Strange Days or        HMV-JAPAN . The price is 50$ and Charles was a little unsure if anyone would want to pay that much....but I know I would!! It would be like reliving the moment of buying and opening those originals for the first time all over again.
If your one of those sad bu***rs who dipped out on the original version of the first album when it sold out in under two weeks in 72 ... well nows your chance to dip out all over again - cos once the word gets out about these faithfull and iconic remakes I'm sure there gonna sell out again!!
Good job I ordered mine before giving you lot the link...

Sometimes when history repeats itself it's a truly wanderfull thing .There's some mouth watering photo's of the new CD's on the page too...
I haven't even added this link to my own site yet ( So I've given you guys the World Exclusive!) So you better get in there quick chaps cos  now I'm off to tell the whole world!!! Yippee !!!
Love to all - especialy the Japanese

I sure do Mairtin - and I actually have several different versions of that cover. It looks to me like the Japanese version is based on a latter version (because of the red background in one of the photos). Also, it looks like it doesn't have all the pages that the original copy had (of each individual member).

What a cover that was - never mind the music!!
Peace

The Japanese mini of HTMSTP does indeed have all the photos of the members, but they are not 'bound' in -- possibly because of the size of the staples? One fan simply used a little ribbon cord to make the booklet effect.

It is just a joy to see for its complete miniaturization of the original!

Much discussion about these wonderful discs over at the Official Horslips Forum Fan_Tasia in the Horslips on Japanese mini LPs thread.

Amen loralee!
Charles is also quite reknowned for being an absolute perfectionist when it comes to design - especialy his own handywork and he spent quite some time on these not just to get them right , but also to make sure Strange Days understood his drawings and measurements etc - and when he told me about them yesterday he was very, very pleased with the end result.
If he thinks they're spot on then thy're worth every penny ,cent and yen....
I think I might get mine framed cos they look too good to play.
Speaking of which - isn't it about time someone somewhere gave  'the boys' an honorary double platinum disc for the rocus they caused with the first  vinyl release. As Ireland never had a firmly established industry or 'award' body back then there was no-one to hand out the well earned prizes (that is ,of course, apart from the boys themselves, Rory, Van and Irish Rockers Barry ... oh and I suppose their was also Skid Row, Declan Sinnott, and Phill Lynott once he recovered from Eamons endeavors at the Tara telephone...) Maybe it's about time we all clubbed together and got them all something special for opening the doors for Irelands Rock.
                                Love to all
