Title: Amazing guitarist - A busker that deserves his page on IrishRockers.com Post by: Aidan on April 04, 2008, 12:26:39 AM I just came accross this video on YouTube today - this guy is brilliant. His name is Nial Lawlor and his guitar playing is out of this world and it appears his main performing venue is Grafton Street. It's amazing that he's not a well known name. I'll do my bit for him and put up a page on the site for him: http://irishrockers.com/artistView.php?artist=N.C.%20Lawlor Title: Re: Amazing guitarist - A busker that deserves his page on IrishRockers.com Post by: Mairtin on April 05, 2008, 02:26:33 AM 8)Snap! I spotted him too a month or so ago when I was checking out Andy McKee's (the champion american acoustic fingerplucker ) youtube vids. Lawlors excellant but I couldn't find much solid info on him - one comment suggested he was a busking American tourist, another said he was Dutch and one more suggested he might be from Wicklow (or was it Kerry?)...It would be nice to know who he realy is , so if he's out there ... Could the real Nial Lawlor please stand up!

Could the real Nial Lawlor please stand up! It appears he's Irish alright - check out the last video on the N.C Lawlor page (http://irishrockers.com/artistView.php?artist=N.C.%20Lawlor), some Americans talking about him saying they thought he was from the deep South but were surprised when they heard his Irish accent. Also there is some info on the blog for the Indie Hour radio show (http://indiehour.wordpress.com/2007/06/20/nc-lawlor/), but unfortunately the link to the podcast on that page does not actually contain the actual show that he appeared on. He has played and appeared on recordings with Gavin Glass And The Holy Shakers (http://irishrockers.com/artistView.php?artist=Gavin%20Glass%20And%20The%20Holy%20Shakers). I know he sits in with various American blues players when they come here.

Title: Re: Amazing guitarist - A busker that deserves his page on IrishRockers.com Post by: Jimmy Cinders on April 07, 2008, 01:51:56 PM He'd probably prefer to tell his own story , I know that he's always playing somewhere, I don't think he uses the internet much but I have a contact number for him. Send me a message at myspace jimmycinders1 or at www.ionsonic.com (search jimmy cinders) and I'll send it by return, all the best.

Title: Re: Amazing guitarist - A busker that deserves his page on IrishRockers.com Post by: MadNats on October 26, 2008, 08:30:43 PM I confirm that Nial our resident busker is still going strong on Grafton Street, but during my last visit a week ago, I discovered some other guy, great guitarist, playing a guitar a la Judas Priest (Gibson flying V). He was playing Gary Moore style stuff. You can see him in the Temple Bar are in the evenings and Grafton Street in the day time. Here is a photo of him.
