I just came accross this video on YouTube today - this guy is brilliant. His name is Nial Lawlor and his guitar playing is out of this world and it appears his main performing venue is Grafton Street. It's amazing that he's not a well known name. I'll do my bit for him and put up a page on the site for him:

8)Snap! I spotted him too a month or so ago when I was checking out Andy McKee's (the  champion american acoustic fingerplucker ) youtube vids. Lawlors excellant but I couldn't find much solid  info on him - one  comment suggested he was a busking American tourist, another said he was Dutch and one more suggested he might be from Wicklow (or was it Kerry?)...It would be nice to know who he realy is , so if he's out there ... Could the real Nial Lawlor please stand up!

It appears he's Irish alright - check out the last video on the N.C Lawlor page, some Americans talking about him saying they thought he was from the deep South but were surprised when they heard his Irish accent. Also there is some info on the blog for the Indie Hour radio show, but unfortunately the link to the podcast on that page does not actually contain the actual show that he appeared on.

He has played and appeared on recordings with Gavin Glass And The Holy Shakers.

Yea , Niall can play alright, he used to play a Sunday afternoon gig in the front of Whelans , I sat in a couple of times, I'm not sure if he still does it though. I know he sits in with various American blues players when they come here.

He'd probably prefer to tell his own story , I know that he's always playing somewhere, I don't think he uses the internet much but I have a contact number for him. Send me a message at myspace jimmycinders1 or at www.ionsonic.com (search jimmy cinders) and I'll send it by return, all the best.

Hey, I saw this guy a few times, can`t say I know him but he is good. On this can anyone remember a similar type artist in Galway, maybe its the same guy, but I don`t think so..

Stay Happy ok.
Bon.

PS: There is a little update on the franticstate web site, not a lot but just a warning to those who may think that fame is an automatic process if you have loads of mullah, ie dosh, bread. readys, money, rtc.. etc..
