Hot Press

I got the new Hot Press today and its goot a small article on the Tracks section about "irishrockers.com" It says:

"Srated in 2003 by irish web designer and music fan Aidan Curran as a database of the most notable irish bands both past and present, the site aims to be the 'ultimate online resource and referance' for irish bands and artists. It also has some interesting promotional opportunities for upcoming artists, including a gig guide, artist news section and a forum. If you are an artist that is not included in their list, you may want to request to be included."

This Hot Press also came with a cd... Republic of Lose... Its actually pretty good, and I wouldn't be a big fan of theirs.

That's cool  I wasn't aware that we were going to be written about in Hot Press. Is there any info on who wrote the article?

I think it was Stephen Errity who wrote it because it's on the same page as all his other articles. Yeah, I think it was him who wrote it because that's the only writer on the page.

I'd just seen the Republic of Loose cover go up on the Hot Press MySpace site and thought I'd check that out myself.

    Great news about the Stephen Errity article on Irish Rockers!! This is a world class quality site and is worth a mint to anyone with a passion for Irish Rock and musicianship!!
  Mind you, after looking at Shivs photos, I do think my article on Amy MacDonald on the 22 was just a little slightly more entertaining
Maybe we could ask Eamon to put a word in on The Herald too?
        Ten points for Errity for being 'on the ball'!
        And 500 for Aiden for giving him something worthwhile to write about!

Republic of Loose are a band that I don't get - why are they so popular? - can anyone explain?

I never really understood that either... their new song is pretty catchy though... "I Like Music" I think it's called... but the rest of their stuff is really weird... "Comeback Girl" did really well last year and that was just the same couple of lines being repeated all the time... I also think the lead singer looks a bit like a gorilla... no offence to him .
