No worries on either front Barry and MadNats. I'm more about the Pop Culture side of things! Like the great scenes in Spinal Tap where the band visit Graceland or the Arnie Fufkin promotion.

There's a photo of Horslips in front of a Holiday Inn that's now my MySpace photo because those Holiday Inn signs are long gone these days! (Hmm...Barry D did mention something about a midnight swim in a Holiday Inn pool.)

What do you remember as the wackiest moment of Roadside Americana? Did you stop at the dinosaurs of Wheeler California? Visit a reptile farm in Arizona? Eat at a railcar diner in Baltimore?

And speaking of that: how was the backstage food? Did they get the toast/meat proportions correct? Where the olives properly stuffed?

What band had the most rabid fans? What band was really into what Horslips had to offer? (Dave Immergluck of the Counting Crows was inspired to pick up the mandolin by seeing Horslips in '79...but he was out front in the audience as a kid.)

All that! Any of that. I've traveled across the country several times and roadside culture is one of my favorite things.

New date has now been published over on Fantasia, for those who were considering going to the do:

Argh - chips...well actually what I really said was s*** (or in good ol' bog Irish - Shite) or cowdung or whatever you want to call it. I'll be in France then and it can't be changed. It's set in stone already. Damn and blast it!

...and The Madison is a fine venue and all.

Can't this be changed just to suit me?? Grin

Welcome to the club Barry Mc, I had arranged the months of August and September around the 23rd Party so when I booked a full week trip to London in September week end to week end, it was on the basis that the party was for sure, else I would not have booked that trip.... shit  happens  Undecided Undecided Undecided

Hey but where in France will you be ?... it's a pity am missing that too... are you likely to play other week ends later in the year down there ? Mind you for us it has to be down south..... But will be back in Dublin later in the year...
