Mix-tapes?

It would be cool if we could each make a 'mix tape' of tracks that we think are really special by lesser known artists and upload them to the ftp site for each other to check out, listen to, digest and comment on

Yeah they all came through ok. I'll be giving them a couple of listens over the next few days and let you know what I think.

I've added mine too, mostly not that recent of stuff for the most part but a few tracks I really like. I added a seperate one for non-Irish stuff too.

I've been listening to shiv's mix tape over the last few days, it's a pretty good collection of stuff. Fionn Regan is the standout for me, it's a track that I had heard before - Put a Penny In the slot - (if you get a chance sometime shiv, maybe you could put a few more tracks of his on the ftp site). The Cake Sale track stands out because of Lisa Hannigan's vocals - she is one of the best female vocalists there is. Probably the only dud track is Republic Of Loose - old recycled whiteboy funk done badly and their comedy aint that funny, IMHO. Comeback Girl was getting a lot of radio play when I was living back home about 2 years ago, I thought it was crap, never got why they were popular, maybe they're entertaining live. When I heard Give Me a Minutes by 21 Demands I had to check to see if it was a new Frantic State track, there's something about them that reminds me of FS, bet they don't have as good a website though
Bullrun by Travega is growing on me.

Ill put Fionn Regan's album up now, I agree with you that his song is really amazing. The Cake Sale song, Gary Lightbody is one of my heros so that song is probably one of my all-time favourites. But the best song on that playlist to me is deffinately Delorentos song, they are just amazing. I think I might have some other songs by Lisa Hannigan too, if I do I'll put those up now.

I just got round to downloading it from the ftp site yesterday, thanks so much for uploading it for me. It's good stuff but I think the song you picked out is the best one.

Yeah that song really stood out to me too, but Be Good or Be Gone is pretty amazing too! I love all the accoustic stuff. I'll try put up more songs... I keep forgetting to.
