I went to a show at an english pub in Quebec City during the carnaval last year and saw an amazing band that were based out of the states (I think Boston) but whose members were all originally from Ireland. Most of their songs were rock style with a fiddle and they sang some traditional stuff/ played instrumental stuff along with some original stuff that was on a cd they had just put out. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the band. All memebers were middle aged ... I'm guessing between 40 and 50. Very good looking lads! Help please? Slightly it's mystifying as to who they could be. Slightly too young to be Horslips, and slightly too old to be the Frames (or even Lir). But if their from the Boston or New York area my guess would be the New York Celtic Rock band 'Fathom' -though even they are still probably too young to have been your mystery band . Some of their songs are as awesome as Horslips themselves (with an equaly questionable dress sence at times too!). My guess is that if it's not Fathom then they will probably know the real mystery band personaly.
