As all here will probably agree, the Irish Indie and underground music scene is probably the most creative and vibrant in the entire world at the moment and for the last eleven years the main source of access that the rest of the world has had to tap into that source 'physically' has been ROAD RECORDS in Dublin. It's a pricy buisness to run an independant music store in Ireland these days and there have even been times when Road's owners Julie and Dave have gone out of pocket just to support new releases by struggling artists. While the worlds banks are busy turning the ordinary man over in the street and helping to flush their futures away in a cess pit of monitary greed it seems that the resulting lack of cash to spend in the everyday pocket is also sucking Road Records down the pan with it...But Road is a vital link in Irelands musical chain and many of the nations fans and bands just dont think this particular chain should be flushed. They are now putting on a special concert to help save Dave and Julie's treasured link and put a little back into their pockets as a special thankyou for supporting Irelands finest Independants for so long - and so often out of their own pockets and without complaint!
Some treasures should just be saved...there is more on the special gig in Dublins Andrews Lane on 14th March featuring the likes of Jape, The Frames' Colm MacConIomaire and many more at Dave and Julies Myspace at....
