I'm afraid there was a slight 'accident' yesterday with this poll and the attached messages caused by a script I was running on the site which ended up deleting some messages. I restored the other messages from a database backup but that backup was from a few days ago so it didn't have this one (note to self: increase backup frequency).

Anyway let me do a quick recap as best I can:
Barry was way out in the lead with about 7 or 8 votes after bringing in his fans to vote which we gave him a bit of stick for but we wholeheartedly welcomed Barry's friends to the forum - "A freind of Barry's is a friend of ours". I made a comment on why I voted for Barry's track - because I've been listening to the tracks on this Jukebox for months and although Barry's track was not my favorite at first, it's the one that stood up best to repeated listening and grew on me the most with time and I like the Peter Green vibe of the track.

Appologies to everyone who posted in this thread, you'll just have to vote again Cry

Well I think Barry's got this one all sewn up again - but... after watching the Deis Roc video on Bill Colemans Irish Rocker page I had to have a little rethink. His bands performance on the show was excellant - full of passion and he realy 'sung it like he meant it ! '. There aren't that many bands that can pull off such a convincing performance when they're singing in gaelic, and Bill seemed to throw his heart and soul into every word. If the Irish version was on the poll then I think I'd have to vote for Bill - luckily for Barry it wasn't!
By the way, if anyone noticed the (now disappeared)comment about Rus Turner being subconsciously inspired by The book of Invasions and checked his site to find irrelevent pictures of spacemen and now think I'm nuts... thats because 1) I probably am
and 2) He'd actualy changed the main picture (which was originaly a large black and white close up of his eye with a brightly coloured swirly blue iris.. hence the now outdated Horslips comment.

Hey, come on you guys - stop picking on me just because I'm obviously popular here!!! Tongue

Speaking of "In The Dead Of Night" - you might like to check this live clip out. The visual is not too hot but the sound is reasonable enough. The only reason I mention it is because it also features Mick Taylor (former Rolling Stones guitarist) - who comes in on the end solo. It's from a recent gig in the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.
Peace
Barry

Thanks for posting that Barry, good version - jamming with Mick Taylor at the end.

Btw. did you know YouTube videos can be inserted directly into posts like this:

Code:
[youtube]HwjkPBfKKk8&hl[/youtube]

Just grab the video code from the YouTube url e.g. the bit that comes after ...watch?v=
and it shows up like this:
