That mountain air is whats cracking you up Nats! Too long at high altitude makes people go gaga Tongue...that's what realy happened to the Inca's too Tongue Tongue
If you'd like to read lines 4 and 5 of my last post I think you'll find a referance to two Horslips tunes  'King of the Fairies' und der 'trouble'...and if you include the Dearg Doom riff that was added to the World Cup track for Korea that makes 3 Tunes - and all done with 'the boys' foreknowledge and blessing too!
So the scores for oxegenated blood cells are as follows ...
Obsequious Mountain Gorillas 99  , Mad Alpine Bears..nil point!
But this should get your brain cells whiring...Australias national hero, founder of the Australian mod and 60's beat movement..and co founder of their hard rock movement too doing a little riff (he wrote as a kid) that was later borrowed by a certain Mr Page... The late, great Sir Billy Thorpe MOA

That should wake up any sleepy heads out there!! Grin

I am currently listening to Irish Skully on MySpace, Mairtin managed to convert me....Don't know if they have a CD, but if and when they do, I might just add it to my hot summer collection of chillout music.

What are you listening to ?  Is anyone out there actually ?

MOSES MALONE posted a tip off about the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble currently playing some dates in Ireland - and (if I haven't mixed up my impressionists...)the lucky young fellah is ( OR WAS) playing as support to the HBA in Cork tonight in-
http://www.myspace.com/impressionistsband
Here's the link he posted for HBA on youtube...these guys are good .
The words 'brass' and 'band' usualy conjur up excruciatingly boring images in my head of sad yorkshiremen or realy bad and miserable looking 'salvation army' bands but I can honestly say these guys are cool. Forget what you think you know about 'brass bands or rap or even hip hop...there's no 'bling', no fashion branded sportswear, no loud mouthed ego's trying to manipulate their sence of self importance...just some extremely talented guys playing it as it is and at the Sugar Club too.

I've also been listening to Chequerboard and Skully Alot!

 Cry Cry Cry
look you've made me cry now! I thought it was quite a phenominal blending of rap funk and rock myself..apparently those tracks were uploaded some time ago and since young Moses secretly joined their sound has altered considerably.
Here's one I know you will like Nats...http://www.myspace.com/skullymusic .....AGAIN!
Or how about the nice gentle meanderings of some genuine ear bursting Irish punk with More Tiny Giants
http://www.myspace.com/moretinygiants

I've always found it realy embarrasing the way the rest of the world seems obsessed with poorly copying Irish punk by mimicking the Pogues..More Tiny Giants are a true Irish punk band along with Cyclefly and Hope Is Noise (in the artist lists)....
   Go on...make me cry...again. Tongue

Earlier I was listening to Pink Floyd but I guess am not allowed to report this...BUT now am on Mellow Drops.  Honestly Mellow Drops and Voodoo Loons are my new revelations of the year, I can't decide which I like best because they are so different I like them both for different things....

By the way am in party mode week end, so ignore anything I may post later sounding utterly stupid or whatever...

@Mairtin, I meant to say, next time you wish to refer to the Matterhorn, please refer it to as "Nats' Alp", I named it like that ages ago....

Hey Mairtin, isn't it nice of Aidan to have set up this chat forum just for the 2 of us ?  Yes I have already had a couple, I know...

Is Denis of Voodoo Loons having a laff ?  They've put new music on their MySpace, but you first have to pause the normal player, as the music is embedded somewhere on the page, you can't control it it seems...

It's very different, it kinda reminds me of Rage against the Machine... very angry music....well I don't dare leave a comment.  Great for a head banging session (you know those which I have sometimes), but I hope it's not an insight of the next album .... you've got to have a listen.....tell me what you think.

By the way I was chuffed finding myself on their top friends list....

Actually I asked Dennis of Voodoo Loons what the feck that "new music" was about as I thought it was some new music they had added and how I had not expected that as new music from them and Dennis explained that he was at first puzzled himself and then realised that someone embedded their own music inside a comment.  So Dennis just had to remove the comment, very cheeky or what ?  If people catch on that trend that could become infuriating for people or else they'll have to disable HTML coding in comments.  It was not only a snippet either, it was like 3-4 full songs playing over and over and you could not turn it off and that was playing in parallel to their normal jukebox...Very odd.

I really though it was Voodoo Loons experimenting or something particularly after seeing on MySpace an update saying "Voodoo Loons added music" it was a strange coincidence...

EEEK... I did that comment thingy on Charlie Don't Surf's (Cork) profile with a vid and tongue in cheek comment about Alan O'Rourke and a certain Billy Thorpe!
This week I have been mostly listening to Counting Crows and Liverpools The Majority... and The Flaws, Deaf Animal Orchestra, Horslips,Kill City Defectors, Black Daisy,San Francisco's new 'Darling of the bay' Brittany Shane, Cornwalls own 'Darling of the Bay' Amy May (soon to be Friscos and LA's too), The 'Special Guests', Myself (ooer!),Jekyl, Jekyl and even more Jekyl along with a very generous slice of 'Charlie Don't Surf' and Skully's Matisse!
For pudding I had a large chunk of 'Dave Immerglucks and Joe Bogios' Glider...very tasty! fellow Horslips buffs might already know that Glider and The Counting Crows 'Immy'(-catch them at Oxygen and Dublin on the 10th-) Was inspired into playing rock music after catching Horslips on their Man Who Built America tour in LA in 1978...The Celtic inspirational snowball continues to this day! Thanks!
Glad you like our stuff..
We are trying to get shit sorted to head out to America now... big of a logistical nightmare but it will pay off!
We got to #2 in the independent download charts too, so that was cool.
We will push that again towards the end of the month with the gigs we have.. then London!
Must get back to Dublin soon too.

All the best

Nice vid Tom
It's especialy nice with the sound up very very loud, ... where are you heading on the Stateside tour?don't forget to get some tracks in to Shauns Paddy Whacked Radio and I'm sure he's got a list hiding somewhere of other Stateside radio stations that would like you on their playlists too...I dare say that some would be slobbering at the mouth for a copy once they hear you too!
Roddie Clears a good listener back home (WLR) and I'm sure there's still a 'happening' radio station in Cork called 'The Green Room?'
eeek ! look out though ... some of those Stateside clubs expect alot from some bands - there was one particular club of legend that expected musicians to keep going after 4 hours and they'd even arrange for 'additives' to be added to make sure they stayed on their feet! Tongue
I'm realy glad things are looking up for you guys (I've been meaning to add a likkewl review for you guys - but I keep getting distracted by the kind people at Horslips ie  and the gazzilion friend requests on a certain social site from lots of people who just cant sing or play)  so I'm a couple of weeks/months  behind .
It's good to hear from you as I think MadNats and myself have scared everyone away!   Adrian's probably going to have all Horslips fans barred soon  Grin which is no surprise realy as I think 'the boys' have been trying to bar us all themselves for the last thirty five years. Wink
            Incredibly incredible best wishes!

Am taking refuge here now and request to be granted broken heart asylum.  Did something "terrible" on the othe side, so steering clear now.

So I won't tell you what I am listening to as some silly  soap is on is on but I'll tell you what I am definitely NOT listening to, Simple Kid.  Why Huh I hear you ask... I did something very silly at the week end.  I had the CD with me at my other abode, and had the disc on my hand to put back into its box (disc was in the car, box was inside house), anyway, then I put the disc down as I was in multi-tasking mode and then I could not find the CD to save my life.  It's not a big house, I know it was downstairs...and we looked everywhere.  I even went into the rubbish bin... If I don't find it during the holidays, I'll have to buy another one....  Angry Undecided.

Well from Saturday I will have my summer collection being played to death whilst we sip champagne, wine or Caipirinha on the terrace, and as it won't be Irish stuff, I'd better not report what I am  listening to.  But the computer will be running on the dining table inside ready for anything....and as lots of alcohol will be consumed, I may post meaningless things, but the good news is, I can delete my posts the next day as this feature is turned on here.....

I thought it was strange for someone to go out of their way to register an account, only to publish a link to some fake Louis Vuitton stuff.  Hands up, I will admin am a Louis Vuitton Collectioneuse myself, but only of the authentic stuff.  Even if I have to buy pre-owned bags, I'd rather do that, pay half of what the new price would be, for still decent and in good nick bags, well looked after generally, as new retail priced ones are a tad high. And yes have done that indeed

@Mairtin, I'll tell you a secret, am sure it's safe here and no one will read  Huh.... I think the link to THE post (on the other side) was emailed deliberately to the person in question as this person did not post for 5 months and am sure does not read our posts much normally but suddenly responded the next day, disguising the post as being  a response to someone else, anyway.....  Well I'll tell you one thing, it worked I am definitely and for shure off the Pet list...Having said that, I probably never was anyway.  Argh well, I'll be allright in a few years.  I wonder if I could be Barry McCabe's pet now.  Roll Eyes

See you on MySpace too yeah ?
