Hey did you notice Mairtin, you are also a hero member now... I'll have to post more than you to go on the next level, I don't like close competition  Grin, I already lost on the other side.

I can't tell you about the joke though.... someone else will have to break it gently to you...someone who reads your posts too who will have noticed.... but if I tell you it will make me look like a non nice person  Grin Grin, wot do you mean you knew that already....

Well apart from that haven't discovered any new irish music lately or anything non irish to get my teeth into.......am still waiting for Aviator to release their album...talking of which let's see if there is any news on their site...I sense they have had problems as it was due last year already....

Nice vid Tom
It's especialy nice with the sound up very very loud, ... where are you heading on the Stateside tour?don't forget to get some tracks in to Shauns Paddy Whacked Radio and I'm sure he's got a list hiding somewhere of other Stateside radio stations that would like you on their playlists too...I dare say that some would be slobbering at the mouth for a copy once they hear you too!
Roddie Clears a good listener back home (WLR) and I'm sure there's still a 'happening' radio station in Cork called 'The Green Room?'
eeek ! look out though ... some of those Stateside clubs expect alot from some bands - there was one particular club of legend that expected musicians to keep going after 4 hours and they'd even arrange for 'additives' to be added to make sure they stayed on their feet! Tongue
I'm realy glad things are looking up for you guys (I've been meaning to add a likkewl review for you guys - but I keep getting distracted by the kind people at Horslips ie  and the gazzilion friend requests on a certain social site from lots of people who just cant sing or play)  so I'm a couple of weeks/months  behind .
It's good to hear from you as I think MadNats and myself have scared everyone away!   Adrian's probably going to have all Horslips fans barred soon  Grin which is no surprise realy as I think 'the boys' have been trying to bar us all themselves for the last thirty five years. Wink
            Incredibly incredible best wishes!

Hey,
Sorry it's taken so long to get back to this - been busy - thank God.
We are trying to get to America in Sep/Oct for 1 year - to L.A.
It's alot of work to get the Visa sorted though, more than you would expect, so fighting the way through all that at the moment.

The EP also got released on iTunes - which I am quite proud of! It's not that big a deal.. it's just kinda cool to see it there . http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=284898772&s=143449 - see here.

We are flat out all this weekend - three festivals so looking forward to them all.

Then London.

If anyone feels like reviewing the EP and posting it online let me know as - that kinda stuff looks well on our Visa application.. especially if it's an international site (you have to prove international recognition). So if you want to fire me a mail to tom(at)jekyl-online.com , and I can post a copy.

All the best lads!

Mairtin, will you do a review please ?  I can't write... I wanted to steal reviews from Eamon Carr and change bits but could not find his prediction review anywhere as it has been archived on Fantasia.. I know I am terrible, I was going to cut and paste some of his prediction phrases and use it for the EP....

...And as if by magic an amazing review appeared.....Oh bugger, I suppose I'd better write one first!
Actualy I was secretly conspiring to write one for the 22 anyway (yup ...another Irish supergoup page on the way!) but due to strange goings on in the world of heresay I'm going to have to check every link on the 22 personally to make sure no hackers spammers and phisshers heve got on board before letting a herd of lawyers loose....but just for now  here's a Mad Nats style review for anyone wandering what Jekyl is all about....
It's Fe**ing Phenominal!!!!!! Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool
Classic metal at it's very best!!

That's right, that's how I write, which is why it would probably not look so good when applying for a VISA... Cheesy Cheesy Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I thought I'd better keep this site alive by writing a little something... My cd's are scattered over 3 places so I don't get to listen to the ones I want all the times and have to wait.  So at the moment am at the place where Mellow Drops,Indulgers and Voodoo Loons live, so I took advantage to listen to Indulgers and Mellow Drops last night.  Am keeping Voodoo Loons for tonight as my best treat.

I'll take this opportunity to tell you a little funny but shameful story.  Last week end Frankie selected a few CD's to play (that's one of his jobs, so I get the surprise) and this CD comes on with a song with the words "Motorway Madness" and I say to Frank, "hmm I don't know this CD, that's not one of mine", so he looks at me a bit puzzled, "wot you don't know what this is ?" So I replied, "well it's not Horslips, is it ?" So he says well yeah of course it is, don't you recognise it" so I say, "oh it's not Tracks from the  Vaults, is it ?" to which he replies, "well yeah", So I shout "WOT you handled my mini Japanese release CD without gloves* ?", to which he replied "no, I would not dream of touching you mini LP release, that's your Edsel Release" and I reply "ohh I bought it did I ?" I had completely forgotten.  A bit like when he claimed we had the double album on Edsel and had forgotten too.  I bought them in bulk last year and could not quite remember which ones.. duhh !!!  What am I like..

Anyone listening to anything these days ?

*  For those who are not aware of my trials and tribulations, I will only handle that collection with gloves so as to not smear the lovely packaging so it it's on Edsel that's what gets played and if not then I use my very special collection which I handle carefully... Well I am a girly after all

Premature short term memory loss is often a sign of an incredibly well mispent youth and... ???oh bugger I forgot what I was writing about ..!
But any way did I mention the premature memory loss?...You'll have to get Frank one of those special 'viral suits' from the government so he can look at them properly too...I was hoping that 'the boys' would re release 'motorway madness' as a present for the planners of the M3 insanity ....I'd quite happily do an amusing lyrical re write to act as an 'aural' form of 'sudden colonic irrigation' for the previous ministers of transport and the environment!
Anyway, did I mention premature memory loss? I'm currently listening to all the bands from this years Hard Working Class Heroes festival and download competion at

                   http://entertainment.ie/hwch/default.asp

It seems you've inspired another 'Supergroup' Nats as there's one called 'Exit: Persued By A Bear' !! Grin
The top 20 downloads get a spot on this years CD.  And Skully has now added the link for the US/ Worldwide Chocolate Factory Fudge  CD (with Chocolates)  on his MySpace page...wheres the 'stuffing my face like a gannet' smiley?... and he's also added a few new tracks.

Also check out Clom MacConIomaire's ( of The Frames, SwellSeason etc) 'The Hares Corner' solo album at
        http://www.theharescorner.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=26&lang=english
His pet Hare escaped and attacked me recently in a fit of lyrical timescaping..

I was reading the previous post about memory loss and I thought you were referring to yourself till I read the bit where you were referring to my earlier post about Motorway Madness... am I for real or what ?  Huh Huh Huh Huh  I had forgotten my post....

I'll have a listen to those links later, currently am busy listening to disc 2 of the Lips live album, Edsel that is, since I am currenly located at the abode where that CD made its home.... Currently it's the Johnny solo on King of the Furniture...that's a killer of a version, or should I say a deadly version like you all seem to say around these parts... I think if he didn't have to end it, he could have carried on for ever and ever, he'd probably still be playing right now... Roll Eyes

I'm off now must go take my medication now...

Please allow me to quote a line from the live album (am still on about the  Horslips live album for those who have not paid attention)

"This is Stereo Record.  That's cos we were running all over the stage while we were playing.  If in doubt, ask those who were there"

Hmm I wondered whose quote that was...

I hope you don't mind me going on and on and on about my Lipsos.. tss tsss tss...well that's too bad... Grin Grin

I used to love those silly comments on all the original Horslips albums..it was just another one of the many reasons why they were (and still are)so special and set apart from everyone else...every album would have a slightly different silly comment on the 'this album can be played on mono stereo etc' section even the numbers of the albums and singles used to be somehow funny as a child.. MOO7  MOO5...Some said that the changing stereo recordings bits were the inspiration behind the changing hotel signs at the begining of Fawlty Towers...or was it Fatty Owls. Cheesy

Stephen Bacon  added the audio of his awesome night at the Boston Agganis where he recieved a standing ovation after Glen Hansard invited him up onto the stage to sing...If you know Stephens (or even Glens own stories about busking outside Dublin Castle  and wishing he was on stage inside) then you may well be moved to tears while listening to it.
Three cheers for Glen and Stephen and for the Boston audience for a night where dreams came true...and a telling off for Glen where he keeps f*@^ing swearing all the f**@ing time!!! Tongue Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool
