I just found this site. It's deadly. I've been in the States for a number of years, but I loved the Irish music scene. Looking at the list of bands I never realized there where so many. My music is Metal. I have a question for all of you out there who remember the middle to late 80's, and for that matter into the early 90's. I lived in Maynooth at the time, and there seemed to be a lot of bands trying to play and make it, but the one town that seemed to have an abundance of metal bands was; for some unknown reason, Lucan. Especially I think around Arthur Griffith park area. Why? I don't know, but I remember one in particular. Asphyxia. Anyone remember them?  I would love to know what ever became of the musicians in these bands. Me? I sing for a metal outfit called Sixth House here in the States. www.myspace.com/sixthhouse check it out. Later.

I suppose I am not a huge Metal fan except when I am a in a metal mood, during one of my head bangin sessions, that is, but I must say the vocals in your band is really really good....

Welcome to the Irish Rockers forum Mr Sinister!

I haven't heard of Asphyxia. I was into metal in the 80s but more the better known international acts.

Hi Mr Sinister,
Sixth house is excellent. very slick and professional - you might want to check out Toms band Jekyl as they may well be heading your way soon. I've heard of a band called Asphyxia from that time but never realised they were Irish...unfortunately hearing 'of' them was about as far as I got but I'll do some digging and see what I can turf up..have you tried 'friends reunited?' to track them down by old schools?
I love the guitar work on your MySpace tracks!

Thanks all for the great comments liking the music. I'm so happy to see the metal scene is very alive back home. I'd love to play in Dublin or any part of Ireland for that matter. Maybe if we get some interest from a label we might be over. We have a show this Friday, looking forward to it. When is Jekyl suppossed to be coming over here. Love to play with them, or at the least go and support them. It seems there's a better metal scene in Ireland than here in the states, at least where I live. Keep it heavy all.

Sinister.
