Don't you all want to know who's behind all this madness? Well I'm Aidan originally from Co. Cavan now living in New Zealand after having lived in California for about a decade. I work as freelance web designer/developer to earn my crust (be sure to get in touch if you need any web work done). I put this web site together in my spare time a few years ago and it has being growing and evolving slowly but surely since then.

My musical tastes are wide but a few of Irish rock artists that have a special place in my heart and inspired me to start this website include Horslips, Rory Gallagher, Thin Lizzy, Van Morrison, The Frames, The Pogues, Stiff Little Fingers, Sinead O'Connor, Therapy?, Whipping Boy, and the list goes on...

Aidan - didn't realise you were from Cavan originally. That explains that get up and do it mentality!! Grin

Well, my name is Barry Mc Cabe (also from Co. Cavan) and I'm lucky enough to make my crust by playing music! You can get the long version here - www.barrymccabe.com - but the short version for now:
* recorded three live albums with my band Albatross
* made a Celtic-Blues album with Davy Spillane [The Peace Within]
* roped Johnny Fean, Pat McManus & Mark Feltham into playing on my new CD [Beyond The Tears]
* tour mostly on the European mainland but have been in the US and Egypt too.
* touring these days with Mick Taylor (former Rolling Stones guitarist)
* supported Rory (Rory who - there is only one Rory) on his last European tour
* won some awards here and there for ny versions of toehr people's songs as well as some of my own songs
...that should do for now!! Cheesy

Hi all,
I am Mairtin O'Riain. I was raised -or perhaps 'dragged through a hedge backwards' would be more accurate - in the UK and spent most of my childhood trying to run away to Ireland. I started writing songs in the late seventies/early eighties inspired mostly by the likes of Horslips , Gallagher, Floyd, Yes , Gabriel , Young  and Gong. I stuck my fingers up to fame and fortune (because it coincided with a planned holiday in Tramore with my old Band mates from London) and set fire to most of my songs about a year later after a chance meeting with Jesus . I spent the last twenty years on an intensive breeding program with my wife in the UK (occaisionaly interupted by me and the kids trying to run away to Ireland) and giving away lyrics  to new and old bands wherever I found them. My wifes gonna freak when she finds out I wrote half her album collection!
I now run a sleazy backwater website called the Ryan - O'Riain 22 which is on a mission to find the best new artists and bands in the world before Sony BMG does. So far we're winning as most of the worlds best new acts are from Ireland.
My family is originaly from Waterford (baile mhic daith) and Loais (rathdowney)..Im also a direct heir to the thrones of Munster and Tara ...(along with about 80% of every other Irish person in the world.

I'm Deb, cheesehead American, whose fave musicians (writers, actors, etc.) are mostly Irish. Yes, I've Irish ancestry, but the last of my lot came here around 1847 from places like County Galway and Offaly. That's nearly the sum total of my knowledge of them.

My fandom takes in the likes of Rory, Van, LiR, Ash, Thin Lizzy, the Frames, Mundy, Planxty, U2, the Walls, Saccade, Nick Kelly, Therapy?...

Barry, I have the first Other Voices CD, with you on it, I believe?

Aidan,no offense, but I'd almost forgotten there is a County Cavan, until I recently saw "Breakfast on Pluto". I've friends in Christchurch, though, so I get regular updates from New Zealand.

Greetings all from Wisconsin.

Hi all Sean Hennessy here originally from Belfast , I'm a photographer that started covering the music scene in Belfast and worked for a few years for Hot Press back in the days before they were saved by Saint Bono and were more concerned with music and honesty than offending advertisers.
I eventually got tired of constantly chasing them to get paid and moved on to mainstream newspapers in Dublin.

Currently have been living and working in Northern Ireland for the past 25 years and have made Dundrum County Down in the Kingdom of Mourne my home.

To see my work (Rory,Phil,Gob and many others) visit either here: www.hennessyphotography.co.uk

or my Myspace site(leave a message or add me Smiley) :

Hey Aidan,

What was wrong with the old FORUM, do you have to mess up my spindly and oh so uncomplicated existence by introducing this new fangled set up. Ant way you may all know me as Bren, from Kilkenny, a complete and utter complainer and writer of amusing ditty's about certain Oirish Wock Artists, anyway gota go, my mate Ross is staging a show soon and we needs de dosh OOOOk.

Hello everybody,

I'm from Poland and no, I don't have any Irish ancestors:) But I love your music! My adventure around the topic have started from Dropkich Murphys (I know it's quite far from Irish music, but that's how it was), then it came through The Pogues, FLogging Molly and then I watched The Boys And The Girl From County Clare, which encouraged me to dig a bit deeper into Irish issue... and here I am;)

I'm 22 and beside Irish music I love worldwide rock'n'roll, everything connected with piracy (books, films, music, stories) and fish breeding.

PS. Sorry for (very likely) mistakes;)
