the outcasts - belfast punk band (a couple of singles) - were around when SLF were starting. Maybe Pre-nup? or solo installments for some of the Kíla solos COlm & Rónán Ó Snodaigh and bass player Brian & his band Preachers Son - hope I'm not pisising you off with my suggestions - it's a class web-site - an amzing compendium - well done
thanks for suggestions. The Outcasts are already on the site by the way - http://irishrockers.com/artistView.php?artist=The%20Outcasts

...now is it just me or do some guitarists just get better and better...here's some recent footage of a 'High Voltage' guitar hero some of you may well remember from Mammas Boys...
You gotta check this one out too:
Pat doing a bit of Dazed & Confused - beats Jimmy Page!
5  General Category / General Discussion / Rory Gallagher the Jazz Saxophonist! on: October 02, 2008, 10:59:21 PM
I was just adding some new videos to the Rory Gallagher and Taste pages on the site and came across this amazing footage of Rory playing saxophone on the Taste jazz number 'It's happened before'. I hadn't realized Rory was also a great jazz saxophonist!

That's some amazing 'hammer-on' style playing there! Yeah 'The Professor' seems to have become even more of a guitar wizard in the post-Mama's Boys days - he's a wicked player, deserves much more recognition.
7  General Category / General Discussion / Henry McCullough returns with "Poor Man's Moon" on: September 01, 2008, 12:40:08 PM
Lee Templeton posted a piece in the news section regarding veteran rocker Henry McCullough's new album. Cheers for that Lee! I'm looking forward to hearing the album.

9  General Category / General Discussion / RIP Ronnie Drew on: August 18, 2008, 03:25:59 AM
A legend of the Irish Music scene, Ronnie Drew, has passed away. His character-filled deep gravelly voice will live on for a long time.

Welcome to the Irish Rockers forum Mr Sinister!

I haven't heard of Asphyxia. I was into metal in the 80s but more the better known international acts.

   Album launch alert!!
Colm MacConIomaire (Frames fiddler extoadinaire ) is launching his new solo album at Whelans in Dublin on September 7th....Something for everyone to look forward to!

Now that should be interesting. Will it be an instrumental album? Wonder if it'll be anything like Dirty Three (Warren Ellis is my favourite violin instrumentalist)
13  General Category / General Discussion / Irish Rockers goes country! on: July 10, 2008, 11:38:25 PM
I've added a brilliant new track to the Jukebox: N.C. Lawlor - Crow Town
And although this is country music it's bloody good stuff.
Rock on Wink
14  General Category / General Discussion / How do you like your country? on: July 10, 2008, 06:37:47 AM
I just found myself on N.C. Lawlor's (subject of an earlier thread) MySpace page and was pleasantly surprised to find some new tracks on there. I've been listening to them over and over. Country is not really my bag but his stuff is simply amazing. His songs are as brilliant as his instrumental lap guitar playing. It's really beautiful stuff, check it out.
15  General Category / General Discussion / Re: What are you currently listening to? on: July 10, 2008, 06:25:49 AM
So I won't tell you what I am listening to as some silly  soap is on is on but I'll tell you what I am definitely NOT listening to, Simple Kid.  Why Huh I hear you ask... I did something very silly at the week end.  I had the CD with me at my other abode, and had the disc on my hand to put back into its box (disc was in the car, box was inside house), anyway, then I put the disc down as I was in multi-tasking mode and then I could not find the CD to save my life.  It's not a big house, I know it was downstairs...and we looked everywhere.  I even went into the rubbish bin... If I don't find it during the holidays, I'll have to buy another one....  Angry Undecided.

if you don't find it, let me know if you want me to upload a digital copy for you
