Voodoo Loons News: Free EP, Listener’s Poll Lovin’, New Music Comin’

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Several exciting news items from Voodoo Loons:

  1. The SiriusXM Satellite Radio 2009 Listener’s Poll ranked “Emerald” (from the Euphobia album) #56 on the Top 100 Celtic Songs list.  Emerald is frequently featured on the SiriusXM’s Celtic Crush program, which is North America’s only coast-t0-coast celtic radio program.  The song has also made it’s way into wider rotation on SiriusXM as well.  So the band thanks everyone for their requests… keep ‘em coming!
  2. Recording Magazine did a write up on the recording of the Loons’ Euphobia album in their September issue, giving high praise to the band’s recording technique, and comparing the recording of “Downhill” to legendary producer (and murderer) Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound.
  3. The band is currently recording the follow up to 2008’s Euphobia album.  Expect new demos, rough mixes, etc. to start showing up on the band’s website and MySpace page any time now.  In the mean time, they’re offering free downloads of their ltd edition EP “Rough Mixes”, which contains demos, outtakes, and a cover of “Instant Karma”… the only cover the band has released to date.  You can grab the free download for a limited time at http://voodooloons.com/VoodooLoonsRoughMixes.rar
  4. If you’d rather have a CD copy of the EP, the band is throwing a free copy in when you order the Euphobia CD directly from the band’s website http://voodooloons.com/sounds.html  GREAT FOR CHRISTMAS, AND SUPER CHEAP (ONLY $9.99 USD!)… ORDER NOW!!!
  5. Finally, fans in the U.S. can expect a tour of college towns that will cover the U.S. east coast and midwest in early 2010…. right around the time that the new album should be done… so keep an ear to the ground for details…
