About The Beat Poets

The Beat Poets, from Co. Down, were formed in April 2005 and right away started demo-ing material, releasing 'Staring Stars Down' and 'Bloodline' as a radio only release. They were chosen as Tom Dunne's Pet Sounds 'Rising Artists', on Today FM. The band was also chosen by Pet Sounds as finalists for a competition which they eventually won, to support The Chemical Brothers and Sonic Youth at Marlay Park.

With influences ranging from Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Kings Of Leon and The Killers, The Beat Poets have derived a musical style that blends a fusion of modern Irish rock, with riffs, hooks and melodies that remind you that their musical ethos demands each song should have its own unique style.
