About DC Nein

DC Nein were one of the more well known punk/new wave bands of the late 70s in Dublin and often played at gigs alongside U2 and The Atrix. Their guitarist, Paul McGuinness had been a roadie for The Radiators From Space.

They originally intended the name to be 'DC Nine' after Dublin 9 where they came from but a printers error on their first set of posters gave them a more ambiguous, vaguely Teutonic air and they went with DC Nein.

DC Nien recorded and released only one single, 'Nightclub' with 'Things Japanese' on the B-side.

They changed their name and sound in 1980 to become Tokyo Olympics.
