James Vincent McMorrow is a folk singer and songwriter from Malahide, Co. Dublin. His debut album 'Early in the Morning' was released in February, 2010. He wrote the album during a self-imposed seclusion in a beach house in Ireland. His music has been compared to Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, and Ray LaMontagne. Tracks from Early in the Morning have been used in American television programs and movies such as Teen Wolf, Third Star, Chuck, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl. McMorrow was awarded a European Border Breakers Award in 2012 for his international success.
His follow-up album, Post Tropical (2014), was recorded in a unique desert studio in Texas, influencing its creative tone. In 2016, he shifted his style with the album We Move, featuring R&B influences, and gained attention for his cover of "Wicked Game," used in a Game of Thrones trailer.
His fourth album, True Care, was released in May 2017 and received mixed reviews. In 2021, McMorrow released Grapefruit Season, produced with notable collaborators, and followed it with The Less I Knew in 2022. In 2024, he released Wide Open, Horses.
