Originally from Killarney, Mike Bartlet has worked in the music end of things most of his life working as a backline technician and touring mostly Ireland and Europe. In the naughties Mike moved to the front of the stage to do the thing that he has always wanted to do. Bartlett's influences range from outlaw country heroes like Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard through to rock with connections to his native Ireland that included Thin Lizzy and The Waterboys, as well with a meaningful band like Pearl Jam. That manifests itself with a rock heart and a country soul, with rock songs delivered in a roots style. Built around the central core of acoustic guitar and voice the arrangements feature a full sound with rhythm section and electric guitar and keyboards.
Collaborating with Simon Good and Tony Flaherty Bartlet's 'Uppers and Downers' EP came to life in Jan/Feb 2007. Simon Good plays lead guitar and Tony plays hammond organ. This EP was put together for a gig just done in Whelans of Wexford St. in Dublin which was his first live gig in 12 yrs with his own original music and far too long in the waiting.
Mike released his debut album TRUTH & LOVE in Sept 2009 and features songs dealing with life, reflections on how people deal with its tribulations.
