About Roesy

Roesy is an singer-songwriter from Birr, Co. Offaly. He debuted with Sketch the Day, Paint the Night (2001), followed by The Spirit Store (2003) and Only Love is Real (2004), all released through his own label, Blue Cloak Records. Throughout his career, he has performed alongside notable artists such as Bert Jansch, Ron Sexsmith, Billy Bragg, and Shane MacGowan, and appeared in the RTÉ TV series Other Voices.

Roesy received recognition with a 2004 Meteor Music Awards nomination for Best New Irish Act and was ranked No. 8 in the Trad/Folk category of the 2005 Hot Press Awards. His song "Potosi Mine" appeared on the Diamond Mountain Session Presents compilation alongside tracks from artists like Sinéad O'Connor and Steve Earle. Additionally, Roesy contributed cover versions of Blu Cantrell's "Breathe" and Beyoncé's "Naughty Girl" to the charity albums Even Better than the Real Thing Vol. 1 (2003) and Vol. 2 (2004)
