No Sweat
Dublin-based hard rock group from late 80s early 90s

About No Sweat

This Dublin-based, six-piece melodic rock group impressed Def Leppard vocalist Joe Elliot, who took over production on their debut album and helped them to secure a contract with London Records.

The single 'Heart And Soul' reached the number 1 in Ireland. They supported Thunder on their "Backstreet Symphony" tour in 1990 and supported Little Angels in Britain during May 1990.

P.J. Smith and Jim Phillips parted company with the band in mid-1991 before the group split for good. Guitarist Dave Gooding later teamed up with ex-Little Angels men Bruce and Jimmy Dickinson to form B.L.O.W. in 1994, a band in which Gooding played the role of frontman. Smith was involved in Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell and Foreigner drummer Mark Schulman's side project Clock during 1998.

Lineup

Paul Quinn (vocals), Dave Gooding (guitar), Jim Phillips (guitar), Jon Angel (bass), Paul J. Smith (Keyboards), Ray Fean (drums)

Used to travel round England watching them. First met them outside the Parr Hall in Warrington where they supported Little Angels. They were amazed that anyone had heard of them. We followed the headliner tour, too.
