About Dr. Strangely Strange

Dr. Strangely Strange, an experimental folk/psychedelic group, formed in Dublin in 1967 by Tim Booth and Ivan Pawle, later included Tim Goulding. Initially performing in Dublin's "Orphanage" houses, the band gained early traction in the UK college circuit. Their debut album, Kip of the Serenes, was produced by Joe Boyd and released in 1969. The follow-up, Heavy Petting, came out in 1970 with a lineup that briefly included Gary Moore.

The band faced internal tensions and disbanded in 1971. They reunited in 1972 and later in the early 1980s, with various lineups. The band performed sporadically, including notable events like the 1994 Incredible String Band convention and a 2007 Bloomsday concert. They have reissued their albums and released new material, including the Radio Sessions album in 2022.
