About Super Extra Bonus Party
Super Extra Bonus Party is an indie-electronica band from Kildare formed in November 2005. Originally starting as a duo under the name Illegal Kids, the band expanded in 2005 with new members, including MC Rodrigo and drummer Gavin. Their music blends electronica, indie, and hip hop. Their debut album, Super Extra Bonus Party LP, was critically acclaimed and won the 2007 Choice Music Prize. They performed with acts like The Go! Team, Bonde do Rolê, and Alec Empire, and appeared at Electric Picnic in 2007 and 2008.
The band's second album, Night Horses, was released in 2009. After an indefinite hiatus in 2011, they returned with singles in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and performed at festivals like Body & Soul and Electric Picnic. Their third album, Late Nite 99, was released on 29 September 2023, supported by a series of live shows.
