About The 4 Of Us

Formed in Newry, by the brothers Brendan Murphy (vocals) and Declan Murphy (guitar). In 1989, the band released their first LP, "Songs for the Tempted". The single "Mary" went to No. 1 on the Irish charts and the album went double platinum in Ireland; it also won Best Album of the Year at the Irish Music Awards.

Over the next decade they released the albums Man Alive (1993), Classified Personal (1999) and Off The Record (2000) but without were unable to repeat the success of their debut. The band made something of a commercial comeback in 2003 with the single "Sunlight", receiving heavy airplay and critical acclaim for a track that was not available for sale until a year later on the album "Heaven & Earth".

Since then the band have continued to release new material releasing the album Fingerprints in 2005, Amplifier in 2011, Sugar Island in 2015 and Crescent Night in 2024. Brendan Murphy also released a solo album Walk with Me in 2010.
