About Una Keane

Debut 4-track Saya Nova EP was released in late 2004 to positive reviews in the Irish press with title track "Saya Nova" being playlisted on Ireland's national station 2FM upon its release.

In 2007 Una made her TV debut when she was invited to perform her song "The Art of Being" on BBC's SRL show in July.

Her background is grounded in music, having studied piano and violin from a young age. Has recently acquired an electric guitar, along with a sense of humour. Graduated as a Computer Scientist but later completed Postgraduate study in Music Technology at the Dublin Institute of Technology. In 2004, it was adios to the world of IT when she founded The Piano Room, a Piano School for adults & children in South Dublin. She also set up D8/CASP in 2006 - a Creative Arts project for young people in the Dublin 8 area. The project is now in its second year.

The past few years have seen her open for Mark Geary, Ann Scott, Glen Hansard (The Frames), Mundy and Declan O’Rourke among others. She organised her first mini-Irish tour in 2004/5 to support her EP release, along with shows at the 12 Bar Club and The Playroom in London last year, which were very well received.

In 2008 Una Keane is working on her debut album.
