About Valediction

Valediction were a Dublin based melodic death metal band formed in 2005. They band played a technical style of metal strong on heavy riffs, well-defined melody and screaming solos with a dark edge and symphonic leanings.

They released a demo in 2008 called ‘The Bleeding Tower’. In 2009 singer Lar Fraser left the band and they went on a brief hiatus while looking for a new singer. Martin O'Hanrahan was eventually chosen as the band's new frontman and the band subsequently pursued a darker, heavier sound with a switch to growled vocals and a change in songwriting style.

In 2011 they released a full length album entitled 'The Primitive Architecture'.

In late 2012, singer Martin O'Hanrahan, guitarist Stephen Hughes and drummer David Ryan left the band and where replaced by Lucas Nolan Synnott (Vocals), Eoin Dullaghan (Guitar) and Brian Grieco (Drums). The group disbanded in 2014. Kevin Byrne went on to work on a one man metal project Sonus Mortis.
