About Blackwych
80s Heavy metal band from Kildare, formed in 1984, and disbanded 1989. Originally called Warlock, they changed names as there were other bands using the name Warlock. They started out gigging in local venues, released some demos and had two tracks included in a compilation of new Irish metal music called Green Metal. Following this, they recorded and released their debut album, entitled "Out of Control", on Crashed Records and Metal Masters in 1986. The core members were three brothers from Clane, Co Kildare. Moved to the Uk in 87.In 2013, ‘Out Of Control’ was re-released on CD through Irish label Slaney Records. And August 2020 saw the “The Last Stand”, an album of material that had been recorded but not released , getting a proper release and upgrade, using a combination of old demo tape recordings and new re-recordings.
