About Ed Zealous

The group originally came together as The Zoo, however, in late 2005 the band decided on a change of direction and a new name ensued. As the band was was going through this change of direction, they entered the studio with Neal Calderwood to record some of the new songs. The resulting demo featured 'For The Fishes', 'Mario', 'The Waiting Room', 'Ab Initio' and 'No Souvenirs'.

It wasn't until 2008, however, that the band released its debut single 'Pretty Face / Getaway Cars'. The release coincided with the band making its debut appearance at the Glastonbury Festival. Later that month, the band also played the Glasgowbury Festival in Draperstown. 'Pretty Face' was later named by AU Magazine as the 17th in the list of the 50 Greatest Songs of the magazine's life time.

In 2010, the band's track 'Talk With Your Hands' was featured on the 'IMRO New Sounds 2010' compilation which featured the cream of up and coming Irish talent.

The band returned in 2012 with a new single entitled entitled 'Diamonds For Eyes'.

They released their one and only album, Wired, in February 2014.

Ed Zealous played their farewell show at Voodoo Belfast in February 2015.
