About Future Kings of Spain
Future Kings of Spain was an Irish rock band formed in Dublin in 2000 by Joey Wilson, Anton Hegarty, and Bryan McMahon, who had previously played together in Mediumwave. The band released two studio albums, Future Kings of Spain (2003) and Nervousystem (2007), along with an EP, Les Debemos (2004). They gained recognition in 2004, winning Best New Band at the Meteor Music Awards and performing at SONICMANIA in Japan.
The band's music was featured in the film Boy Eats Girl, and they toured with notable acts like Biffy Clyro and Muse. Despite their initial success and multiple nominations at the 2008 Meteor Music Awards, they struggled to achieve commercial success and in 2009 the band announced their disbandment.
