About Girls Names

Girls Names was an indie band from Belfast formed in 2009 by Cathal Cully and Neil Brogan. Initially a duo, they were soon joined by bassist Claire Miskimmin. The band released four albums—Dead To Me (2011), The New Life (2013), Arms Around a Vision (2015), and Stains on Silence (2018)—as well as several EPs, singles, and split singles. Their early music was noise-pop, but they evolved towards krautrock and motorik influences over time. The band underwent lineup changes, with Brogan leaving in 2013 and Gib Cassidy replacing him. After a decade of activity, Girls Names disbanded in January 2019.
