About Host

Host was formed in 1983 be 3 members of Horslips - Eamon Carr, Johnny Fean and Charles O'Connor, along with Peter Keenan (keyboards) and Chris Page (bass).

As well as a number of singles, they released a concept album called Tryal with subject matter concerning the tryal (trial) and burning of Bridget Cleary by her husband Michael who claimed she was a 'fairy changeling'. Interestingly, this story has been subject matter for other Irish songwriters including Maija Sofia who wrote the song 'The Wife of Michael Cleary'. That song also received a haunting rendition by the doom folk group ØXN.

Speak of the Devil! I HAVE just heard this album last nite, but crashed due to jetlag. Will listen again. Beautiful album art though! Spent hours at Heathrow airport getting acquainted with it!
