In early 2002 Jaded Sun formed from the ashes of various semi-established independent bands and ever since they have been stamping their own unique brand of Rock'n'Roll all over the Irish music scene.
When the word went out that they were in need of a vocalist with raw power, up stepped John Maher to answer the call and half way through his auditioning song John had proved his worth. The boys then set about locking themselves into the studio for most of 2002/2003 to write new material and polish their sound, emerging occasionally to test their wares on the gig going public. It was obvious from the crowds reaction to Jaded Sun the band had good chemistry and a very bright future ahead.
Then come February 2004 the band exploded out of the studio with the release of their critically acclaimed debut record entitled The Raw EP which was picked up and play-listed by a number of radio stations in Wicklow & Dublin also picking up rave reviews in the print media.
The band then cranked it up a notch further embarking on a heavy gigging schedule on the East coast of Ireland winning various accolades, doing live radio sessions in 98FM & Near FM (to name but two) and launching various events. All the while regularly playing well respected venues Whelan's, Temple Bar Music Centre, the coveted Saturday night slot in Eamonn Doran's topping it off with a date in the INEC Killarney.
Having won over audiences nationwide with the now infamous highly energetic performances of John Maher, the duelling guitars of Sean Gosker & Eorann Stafford and the thunderous power of the drum and bass escapades of Damien Kelly and Gav Wheeler.
Jaded Sun released their debut album Gypsy Trip in 2008. The album was recorded in The Mouse House, Altadena, California.
Jaded Sun played their last gig on 21st May 2011 at the MJC Charmont in the Champagne region of France. They did release some records after this, a single Left In A Hurry in 2013 and the EPs JS1 and JS2 in 2013 and 2014.
