About Jinx Lennon

Hailing from Dundalk, County Louth in good old Hibernia Jinx Lennon is a raw energy neo gospel PUNK style preacher/performer that mixes acoustic and electro punk influenced observational lyrics and performance art. The stage show is more baptist hellfire church than Dylanesque troubadour depending on whatever mood Jinx is in on the night.

Jinx has been touring and pushing out his fierce music at home and abroad since 1999 after the demise of his former band Novena Babes who managed to get one song "Evening Gown" a Phil Spector "everything but the kitchen sink" pop number on a compilation "First Transmission" that featured the mid 1990's cream of Dundalk talent.

Since then Jinx has been playing shows at home and abroad lighting up the bars of Reykjavik in Iceland, sitting on the back of a Greyhound bus touring the East coast of US, and playing Antifolk festivals in London and Brighton with his secret weapon the highly talented singer Miss Paula Flynn a highly talented lady from Forkhill in South Armagh. At home in Ireland he has played Oxegen and Electric Picnic (Leviathan Tent) last year, the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival in Belfast, Project 06 in Galway and the Spiegeltent in Dublin Fringe Festival.

Radio appearances at home include sessions on Stuart Bailie's "Across the Line" on BBC Radio Ulster, "The Dan Hegarty Show on 2FM, appearances on "Round Midnight", and "The Eleventh Hour" on RTE Radio 1, and a live show recorded for the I-Con programme on Phantom 105.2 fm was aired recently.

For TV appearances include the documentary 'Noisemaker' about the music and life of Jinx which was televised recently on RTE 1, a performance of 'Bubble Electrician' for Cula 4 on TG4, a rendition of 'Fireplace-itis' which Jinx and Paula performed outside the Spirit Store in Dundalk for Pop 4 on TG4, and a feisty version of 'City of Styrofoam Cups' which Jinx performed on the Ardan show special in April this year also for TG4.
