About Lisa Hannigan
Lisa Hannigan is a singer and musician known for her unique vocal style and diverse musical influences. She started her career with Damien Rice’s band, contributing to his albums and touring with him. In 2007, she launched her solo career, releasing three albums: Sea Sew (2008), Passenger (2011), and At Swim (2016), all of which received critical acclaim and award nominations.
Born in Dublin and raised in County Meath, Hannigan studied French and art history at Trinity College Dublin, where she met Rice. After collaborating on his early work, she embarked on her own musical journey, gaining recognition with her debut album, Sea Sew, which featured the hit single "Lille." Her follow-up albums further showcased her growth as an artist.
Hannigan is also known for her voice acting, notably as Blue Diamond in the animated series Steven Universe. Additionally, she has contributed to various soundtracks and collaborated with artists like The National's Aaron Dessner.
Hannigan has received several awards, including multiple Hot Press Readers' Poll awards and nominations for the Mercury Prize and Choice Music Prize. She lives in London with her husband and their son, maintaining a vibrant musical career that continues to evolve.
