About Mellow Drops

Formed in Ireland in 1989 as a 5 piece rock band, Mellow Drops have been doing their best to enjoy themselves ever since.

In the mid-90s Mellow Drops gradually switched to a more melodic and harmonic style with Bodhrán and percussion replacing the drums, and the addition of classical violin. The knowledge gained in this phase was re-applied to a rock outfit when the drum kit returned some years later. After recording an EP in late 1998, life events forced a lull in activity. The unmixed recording stirred the band into action again in 2003, and some very enjoyable sessions produced new material.

In 2007 the band released their one and only album - "Where Do We Go From Here?".

Two members, Cian O Cinnseala and Derek Toner moved to New Zealand in 2006 and a reformed version of the band in New Zealand while still collaborating with the remaining members back in Ireland.

Members

Cian O Cinnseala, Derek Toner, Brendan Tuite, James Jones, Anthony Darby, Mark Neary

Cant understand why there is such a focus on the whole pink floyd thing. They got plenty of original style and man when those harmonies kick in .. shivers ..

Another superb album from a band featured on the jukebox.A must for any Pink Floyd fans.If anyone should take over, then it might as well be them. Some sounds also remind me of the Ozric Tentacles, one of my bands when I was young.
