Peacefrog were a Belfast based band, formed in 1991. Their personnel included former members of several legendary local bands, including Shock Treatment, Out Of The Shadow, Sweet Savage, and Sample And Hold. They were active on the live circuit throughout the 1990’s rubbing shoulders with such luminaries as Tiberius Minnows, 4-Idle Hands, New Brontës, The Airmen and Brian Houston.
Peacefrog released their debut EP, Flower Power, in 1992 and this topped the local charts, earning the band significant local press and television coverage. They signed a management deal with Steve Strange (X-Ray Touring) and this led to several high-profile tour support slots with the Cranberries, the Fat Lady Sings, the Hot House Flowers,Crowded House,and David Bowie.
The band were renowned for their energetic live performances and their New Year’s Eve show (1992) at Chris Roddy’s Rotterdam Venue (Belfast), has become part of local folklore! Other career highlights included shows at the Ulster Hall, the King’s Hall, both in Belfast, the Tripp To Tipp (1993) and the London Fleadh (1994).
