Morgan MacIntyre (from Belfast) and Gemma Doherty (from Derry) met at Trinity College, Dublin. They founded Saint Sister in 2014. They were voted the “Best Irish Act" by the readers of The Irish Times in 2016. Their debut album, Shape of Silence, was released in 2018 and was nominated for the Choice Music Prize.
Their 2021 sophomore record Where I Should End was met with critical acclaim, winning ‘Best Album’ at Northern Ireland Music Prize and was nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ at Choice Music Prize.
At its core, their live performance consists of mesmerising close-knit vocal harmonies and electro-acoustic harp, though they often perform with a full 7-piece band, and sometimes with a string quartet. They have toured extensively across the globe since their formation in 2014, including support slots with Hozier, Keane, Lisa Hannigan, and Tori Amos. Some highlights include a stunning NPR Tiny Desk Concert, SXSW, and Glastonbury. In the past year, MacIntyre has launched a solo project under the name ‘Morgana’, and Doherty has been performing with Bono on his ‘Stories of Surrender’ world tour.
