Belfast band formed in 1968 by ex-Them members Jim Armstrong and Kenny McDowell

About Sk'Boo

In 1968 Them had been intensively touring and recording in the States but guitarist Jim Armstrong and vocalist Kenny McDowell felt that they weren't seeing the financial rewards for their hard work so they quit and returned to Belfast and formed Sk'Boo.

In 1969 Armstrong and McDowell were persuaded to return to America by a Chicago based manager who knew them from their time with Them. So they left Sk'Boo and Belfast again and headed over to Chicago where they teamed up with some American musicians and formed a new band called Truth. Truth came to an end in 1971 and Armstrong and McDowell found themselves back in Belfast again. Sk'Boo was reformed in various iterations in the 70s and into the 80s and released their only record (a 3 track 7" - It's A Hard Road / Music Is Life / Talking Pictures-God's Peace in Mind) in 1982.
