About Sprints
Sprints are a garage punk band formed in Dublin in 2019. Their music is raw and energetic, with a mix of alt-rock, punk, and grunge influences.
The band’s early music was shaped by Chubb’s influences from punk rock and her interest in writing songs that were relatable and emotionally direct. They have explored various styles, combining elements of punk, grunge, and garage rock. Manifesto, their 2021 EP, was inspired by Ireland's campaign for Repeal The 8th and the ongoing fight for women's bodily autonomy.
Sprints began their career by releasing a series of singles and EPs through the Nice Swan label between 2019 and 2022. In 2024, they signed with City Slang and released their excellent debut album Letter to Self, which received positive reviews and made IrishRockers.com top 10 albums of 2024 list. Following the album’s release, founding guitarist Colm O'Reilly left the band in May 2024, citing a desire to step away from public performance. After O'Reilly’s departure, Sprints initially toured with guest guitarists before Zac Stephenson joined the band permanently. The band then released "Feast," a stand-alone single.
