About Sweet Jane

Sweet Jane was an Irish band formed in 2008, initially featuring Danda Paxton (lead guitar/vocals), Neil Paxton (backing vocals/keyboards/guitar), Ruairi Paxton (bass), Conor Paxton (guitar), and Donagh O'Brien (drums). They gained attention after Danda Paxton invited Lydia Des Dolles to provide vocals on some of his tracks. The band released their first EP, Black Boots and Black Hearts, and signed to Reekus Records in 2009, releasing their single "You're Making This Hard" with a cover of "Silent Night."

Their debut album, Sugar for My Soul (2010), received positive reviews and was featured on several RTÉ TV shows, including Fade Street. The band gained international attention, with their music featured on MTV's Skins and the DJ Hero video game. They toured extensively in 2010, performing at major festivals like Oxegen and SXSW, and supported bands like Glasvegas and The Kills. They also toured Southeast Asia in 2011.

In 2011, Lydia Des Dolles left, and Danda Paxton took over lead vocals. The band changed their name to Buffalo Sunn in 2013 and released their debut album By the Ocean By the Sea in 2014.
