About Tanya O'Callaghan

Tanya O'Callaghan from Mullingar picked up bass when she was in her late teens. She joined a FÁS music course and started learning drums but she didn’t have a proper drum kit so ended up taking up bass.

The first band she played in was her cousin's local Mullingar metal band called Severed. She played with some other local bands that needed bass players and eventually she landed a gig playing with RTE's Late Late Show house band. She did some other TV work and landed a gig with River Dance. She also did some work with Sharon Corr of The Corrs.

While playing in Glasgow, she got noticed by Maynard James Keenan of Tool fame and was invited to Arizona be work with his band Puscifer.

She moved to LA around 2009 and played as a session musician playing different styles of music including R&B, pop and rock.

Through her session work O’Callaghan worked with some big name artists and did both studio work and live gigs. She rose to prominence as a rock bassist through her work with Maynard James Keenan, Dee Snyder (Twisted Sister), Steven Adler (Guns N’ Roses), Ronnie Wood, and Taylor Hawkins, thanks to her reputation as a solid bassist who plays for the song and boasts a large presence on stage. She toured with Dee Snyder for 2 years and then went on to tour with Steven Adler.

She joined Whitesnake in 2021 after David Coverdale saw her play with Steven Adler and invited her to join the band.

In 2024 she joined Bruce Dickinson's band.
