About The Brothers Movement

Mainline were formed in 2003 as a six piece full on rock 'n' roll band. Sighting a wide variety of influences from the Velvet Underground through to the noisiness and dark feeling of the Jesus and Mary Chain and the deep drones of Spacemen 3 emerging into the here and now with a unique and creative originality. With an intensity that pushes the limits of live performance.

In 2008 the band renamed to The Brothers Movement. They were signed to Rocket Girl records in the UK, and widely expected to go on and make an impact more substantial than they actually did. They played support to the likes of The Jesus and Mary Chain, Doves, Sonic Youth, The Chemical Brothers and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The band split in 2011. They got back together for a one off show in December 2019.
