About The Hedge Schools
In early 2008 The Hedge Schools became the musical vehicle for the songs of former Ten Speed Racer bass player Patrick M Barrett. The debut record, Never Leave Anywhere was recorded and produced by his former Bandmate Joe Chester. At The End Of A Winding Day was the follow up to the 2008 debut and was released in January 2015 and was also recorded and produced by Joe Chester. It features contributions on trumpet from Donagh Molloy from Lisa Hannigan's band and the cello work of Kevin Murphy from Seti the First and Adrian Crowley's band. Described as "a triumph of minimalist beauty" by Hot Press, At The End Of A Winding Day got a vinyl debut in 2024, almost a decade on from its initial release. The third offering from The Hedge Schools came in 2018 and is entitled Magnificent Birds.
Following Magnificent Birds Pat has released two albums under the name Arrivalists, Last of the Written Pages in 2021 and It’s Own Time in 2023.
