About The Laundry Shop
The Laundry Shop are an Indie rock three piece: A Swedish Girl and two Irish guys. They have been together since the start of 2007 and have played around the country, released their debut single, "Highs and Lows" Which went top thirty in Ireland, gained 5 star reviews and built up a reputation as an explosive live act. The name came when they stripped out the Laundry room in their rented accommodation and installed a studio where they self produced their Album. The sound of the band arises from their love of such acts as Weezer, Sonic Youth, Pavement and Smashing Pumpkins. One minute fragile and ethereal, the next a full on attack of aggressive rock. The music scatters desolate and frantic musical landscapes with a delicate whispered emotion. The summer months sees the band play through out Ireland with a visit to the UK. Some summer festivals appearances and supports will lead them up to the release of their debut album in September.
