About Tigris
Tigris was formed early in 2007 by David Duggan and Fabian Stanley. Both realised they had very similar musical taste and set about finding more like-minded musicians to form a group that, as they say would ’bring real rock music back to the masses’. After auditioning several drummers and guitarists the guys finally and almost accidentally stumbled upon Seán White whom Dave had worked with in rubber bullets in 2004 and void in 2006.The guys explained their vision for the band to Seán who was extremely keen on it and knew that drummer Danielle Keogh who had also been a member of void, would be perfect to round off a four-piece which has quickly established itself as the most formidable rock band on the Irish circuit. The band first set about working on songwriting and they quickly realised they had a very unique sound which utilised twin guitar harmonies influenced by Thin Lizzy and newer brands of rock with riff based melodies. Not only this but they also had a classic rock core, which can only be put down to the fact that all four are fans of bands such as Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, Motorhead, The Who, AC/DC, Lynard Skynard and Guns ’N’ Roses to name a few.Not only this but the guitars have a very bluesy twang which is attributed to both Fabian and Seán’s admiration for blues players like Gary Moore, Muddy Waters, BB King and Howlin’ Wolf. The combination of such musical styles has helped Tigris stand out from the ordinary.
