Hailing from the Gaeltacht of Connemara in west Galway, Trá Pháidín is a nine-piece collective who craft a bold fusion of traditional Irish music, jazz improvisation, post-rock soundscapes and a healthy dose of playful absurdity. Their music is largely instrumental, yet deeply rooted in the Irish language and landscape — their 2023-album An 424 maps the coast from Galway to Carna via the 424 bus-route, exploring identity, geography and cultural nuance. In live shows, expect immersive grooves, brass and woodwind flights, harp and fiddle interplay, and a band that is as serious about craft as it is about revelry.
