About Joe Hodgson

Joe Hodgson is a rock guitarist and composer from Northern Ireland, known for his instrumental work that blends classic rock, blues, jazz, and Irish traditional influences. Originally from County Tyrone, he began playing guitar in his teens and drew early inspiration from players such as Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher, and Jimi Hendrix.

Hodgson first played in local bands before pursuing a solo career, developing a style characterized by melodic phrasing and expressive lead guitar work. His debut solo album, Apparitions (2020), was a wide-ranging instrumental record exploring themes of loss and personal reflection, written partly as a tribute to his late mother.

In 2025, he announced his follow-up, Fields of Redemption (scheduled for release on 20 June 2025), further expanding his sound by incorporating elements of jazz fusion, ambient textures, and Celtic tonality. His music has been noted for its emotional directness and technical fluency, appealing to fans of both classic and modern guitar-driven rock.
