Formed in 2005, Kill City Defectors was a four-piece alt/indie rock act from Kildare. The group scored themselves an early buzz with their two lead-off singles, "So Lo," and "Messed Up," which were put out by the band on their own label. Gaining a fair number of plaudits in the British music press, in addition to winning over Ronnie Wood as a fan, Kill City Defectors went into the studio to begin work on their debut album soon after. The resulting work, Mutiny Sounds, was released in 2007, and the band wound up landing a number of showcase gigs, including the Solas Festival. They went on to release a second album, Drone, in 2014.
