The band formed in 2016 at CSN in Cork, with founding members Luke Butler (guitar/vocals), Alessio Bagatin (guitar/vocals), Aaron Kennedy (bass), and Chris Hanlon (drums). They describe their sound as an "energetic, aggressive, and pretty" fusion of alternative metal and melodic grooves, with influences from progressive rock.
They released a self-titled EP in 2017 and a follow-up, Liberation, in 2019. Following a hiatus, Archaós released the single "Tartarus" in September 2025 and added Ciara Sheehan on vocals.
